The Liberty’s Kitchen Healthy School Lunch Program at New Orleans College Prep Charter School!

Liberty’s Kitchen is providing freshly prepared healthy food for New Orleans’ schoolchildren. We are proud to partner with New Orleans College Prep Charter School as we join together in our commitment to provide scratch-made, nutritious and tasty meals for schoolchildren so that they are better able to learn. Startup of the program was made possible by a most gracious donation from the Emeril Lagasse Foundation.  The school lunch program also gives Liberty’s Kitchen the opportunity to create additional training opportunities for the youth we serve!

Chef Manager Kevin Hackett is at the helm of the Healthy School Lunch Program.  He is doing a fantastic job of executing the menu and recipes to comply with USDA requirements for the Child Nutrition Program, while supervising our trainees, who prepare and serve the food!  In addition, we have Chef Instructors Reggie Ward and Paul Dyer on site, as well as Line Supervisor Javette Hitchens, a Liberty's Kitchen Graduate!
