Liberty’s Kitchen Café and Coffee House
As a "We Proudly Brew" location, our retail establishment at 422½ South Broad offers an espresso bar serving Starbucks® coffee and espresso beverages. Our full service kitchen offers "from scratch" baked goods such as cookies, scones and muffins, as well as hot breakfast items and soups, sandwiches and salads for lunch. Daily lunch specials are available as well. Our menu has been designed with an eye toward training opportunity - as a result, all of our offerings are freshly prepared - from stocks to salad dressings to our pastries. Our customers rave about our Fried Shrimp Po Boy, Black Bean Burger, and Cajun Cobb Salad, just to name a few! We are open Monday thru Friday from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Location, Location, Location
Liberty’s Kitchen is located across Tulane Avenue from the Criminal Courthouse complex with close proximity to the transportation hub at Tulane and Broad, giving the café a “built-in” clientele of lawyers, jurors, public defenders, courthouse employees and law enforcement officers.
The location was also chosen for its proximity to Tulane Avenue, an area undergoing an exciting revitalization effort with support from both the public and private sectors. According to New Orleans City Business magazine, the total planned investment for the Tulane Avenue corridor exceeds $3.5 billion including the Veterans Affairs and Louisiana State University Hospital Center, the city’s new Criminal Justice Complex and several commercial developments such as the Domain Companies’ investment of $125 million into 500 units of new residential development and the former Falstaff Brewery’s conversion to 250 apartments. These efforts are supported by an alliance of city officials, state legislators and private investors; State Rep. J.P. Morrell of New Orleans is quoted as saying “The neighborhoods along Tulane Avenue are extremely diverse and progressive. Tulane Avenue with its close proximity to downtown New Orleans is the ideal place to live, work and play.” Liberty’s Kitchen is proud to be a part of the Tulane Avenue community, as well as play a role in its revitalization.
