Turning Tables: Thirteenth Night is for King Cake

January 7, 2020 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Turning Tables fellows will be serving drinks at ‘Thirteenth Night is for King Cake’, a celebration of Crescent City tradition in the style of musical chairs presented by Cantine. Enjoy nearly 30 different interpretations of the traditional king cake, music, drinks, and more!

A group of talented bakers helps us collect donations for Congreso de Jornaleros (Congress of Day Laborers) who are doing substantial work in town supporting the rights and lives of immigrants and asylum seekers in N.O.
Nearly 30 different interpretations of the traditional king cake will be available for raffle and silent auction. Raffle winners will strut their stuff to pick their preferential pastries in a game of musical chairs, deejayed by vinyl spinning extraordinaire Ann Glaviano of Heatwave! dance party. All money collected at this event will be donated directly to Congreso de Jornaleros. We have much more in store (like a guided children’s activity, an interactive installation adorned by Milagros Collective, punches, and on-site screen printing by Team Acid) and will keep the details trickling in.
